Turn Your Knack for Creating Writing into a Lucrative New Career You Can Do From Anywhere in the World
You always wanted to be a writer but became a marketing assistant instead.
Ditto ‘public relations specialist,’ ‘sales executive,’ ‘human resources assistant,’ and that one time you thought you could actually be an international meeting planner. (Fail.)
You work in the communications department for a company called “Dan’s Solutions, Inc.”
…but writing white papers about Pfizer’s hottest new medical device isn’t exactly what you envisioned you’d be doing for the rest of your life.
You’re a copywriter who’s trying to exit left from the whole “bro-marketey” scene.
You really don’t want to write the 50th variation of a landing page for ‘Energy Boosting Detox Power Pills’ for man named Steve who nitpicks the number of bullet points you used and wonders why he’s paying you ‘the big bucks.’ (Which, to be clear, barely covers the cost of him texting and calling you at all hours.)
You’re a freelance writer who writes articles for magazines and publications—but it’s a never-ending slog (and not exactly paying the bills).
Even at a rate of $1.00 a word, which is rare to find these days, you’re constantly scrambling around to find your next gig. It’s exhausting, and you’re pitching yourself more than you’re writing. You’re also worried the industry is in peril as a whole, and are looking for alternatives.
You’ve been thinking about going freelance but have no idea where to start.
You know you’re a good writer. You LOVE writing. You’re secretly dreaming about making a career out of it. But, there are just so many unknowns. How do you get started? How do you get clients? How do you find clients that actually have a budget? How do you build your portfolio? And, would you be good enough in the first place, with all the other writers out there?
No prior experience necessary.
You studied creative writing or English lit, but you’ve never been able to apply it in the real world.
The only jobs you seem to qualify for are English teachers and administrative assistants, or the self-published Kindle author of a $1.99 book titled Mr. Periwinkle’s New Sock Selection. (No shame!)
You’ve been feeling rather “meh” about your job and have been yearning for an exciting career change for some time now, but without any experience, you don’t think you’re qualified.
You think to yourself, Why would any clients want to hire me? I’m a nobody. I have no experience. The learning curve feels too big.
Life took you in a different direction, but now you’re embarking on a grand self-reinvention.
This is version 2.0 of your life—or maybe 7.0!—and you’re done with putting other people first. You’re excited about exploring your creative side, once and for all, but you’re also not interested in becoming a starving artist either. #mustaffordgoodwine
You’re specifically looking for mentorship and guidance on how to jumpstart a professional creative writing career from scratch.
Even if you don’t have a portfolio yet, and even if you’re a beginner, and even if you’ve never sold your writing before. That’s what this program is for.
You’re a naturally engaging writer—witty, clever, full of personality—but you’re not entirely sure how to get paid for it.
Does anyone really want to cough up money to have you write the top ten ways to terrorize your husband while he’s working from home? (Answer: YES.) (Also, please write us and tell us your favorite.)
Instead, you’ve found yourself in creative writer purgatory. Please select all that apply. ⬇️

We Want You to Earn $100,000 With Creative Writing
Creative writing is quickly becoming one of most in-demand skills in the world thanks to two major shifts in the business landscape:
First was the shift to online content marketing. Every business in the world needs fresh, fascinating, original, drool-worthy online content, from newsletters to email campaigns to blog articles to PDFs to books to product descriptions to scripts for videos and even TikTok. And here’s a little secret: most CEOs have no idea how to find anyone amazing to do any of this. And most small businesses have no idea how to do any of this. Even seasoned marketing teams are flailing when it comes to actually creating magnetic content that people worship, read, love, and buy from. Because knowing how to run a marketing campaign is much different than knowing how to get anyone to care. And that’s what creative writers do best: make people care.
Second was the development of AI. Contrary to popular belief, this development doesn’t put writers out of work: it offers future job security. That’s because as more and more businesses start to use AI, more and more businesses will become mediocre in a race to the bottom. When the market becomes saturated with the same-sounding content, they’re going to need creative writers to help them stand out more than ever. They’ll rely on real humans to bring wit and humor, offer interesting opinions, give emotional depth, come up with a fresh take, frame old ideas into new ones, put a captivating spin on a tired message, and turn a faceless brand into a human one. In the era of the personal brand, the last thing they want to do is seem corporate.
Most brands and businesses, however, are still woefully behind in both departments: they’re either producing content that’s stiff, flat, and unengaging, or they’re hardly able to keep up with their content production at all.
This is a massive opportunity.
Brands are aware that they need to upgrade their content in order to attract modern consumers, but oftentimes it can be difficult for them to reach this particular pool of talent.
Our company regularly gets asked for referrals for talented creative writers, along with the commentary of, “I just don’t know how to find a superstar!” Marketplaces like Upwork and Fiverr offer no quality curation; anyone can market their services as a writer, and as a result, everyone does. It’s common to find generalist writers on such platforms who don’t stand out in any meaningful way, making it hard to know who is going to be great.
The Creative Writing Program for Professional Writers, however, works with companies who are actively seeking high-quality creative writers for fascinating and fun projects so they can find the talent they need, while you can get the experience you do.
During the certification program, you’ll not only complete a series of mock projects, but you’ll also be matched with a real company to complete a real-world practicum project (paid), allowing you to build your portfolio, put the things you’re learning into action, gain confidence, and earn your first check as a professional creative writer.
When you complete our certification program, you’ll automatically become eligible to join our network of officially vetted writers available for hire via our exclusive job board. Through our world-class training, we’re able to curate top talent and offer company partners access to the best creative writers in the world who are trained not only in craft, but in business excellence, ensuring a successful collaboration.
Here are examples of the things you’ll write everyday as one of our creative writing graduates:
A weekly newsletter people actually want to open for a renowned cupcake shop in Washington D.C.
Tweets for a London bookshop that make people laugh, follow, click, and buy
Product descriptions for a wine company that want people to say OMG
Substack newsletters for a well-known food & drink publication that needs help researching and writing
Book manuscripts—or the editing of manuscripts—for a famous actor, CEO, or public figure
TikTok scripts that are hilarious
LinkedIn content that positions your client as a thought leader with a sense of humor
Podcast ads that actually make listeners gasp—and want to go buy the sponsored product
Newsletter ads for the coolest new writing software on the block
Creative video ads for the tourism board of Finland (or Maine!)
Product launch video scripts for a tile company in Spain
Online courses and instructional PDFs that need a touch of humor, wit, and delight
Email campaigns for a hot new umbrella company (yes, there is such a thing!)
PR articles that stand WAY out in the inbox (thanks to your creative editing magic!)
Website copy that turns an everyday travel agency into an ✨ iconic ✨ one
Sales pitches to stakeholders that need a little zhush
Speeches for people like the CEO of Toms
External communications, like job postings and customer service emails for companies with a personality
And the list goes on!
There’s an explosive opportunity for creative writers to earn a lucrative living helping these companies create the content they desperately need.
It’s not about poetry: it’s about persuasion.
Every sale in the world starts with attention.
How much can you get paid as a professional creative writer?
Here’s a list of real projects and how much the writer was paid:
$10,000+ to take an existing book manuscript for Penguin Random House and turn it into personality-filled, effervescent gold.
$25,000+ to ghostwrite a book from scratch
$5,000/month to help a tech company write all their smokin’ hot content: addictive newsletters, fun-filled product descriptions, clever social captions, irresistible ad campaigns
$8,000 to edit an accounting firm’s website and make it way more engaging + fun to read
$500 per product description for a journal and notebook company
$2,000/month to write a weekly newsletter for an online garden company
$2,500/month to write all of the social content for a picture framing company
None of these jobs require a degree in creative writing. None of them require copywriting formulas. None of them require advanced technical skills, like using a camera, or writing software.
If you’ve got a knack for creative writing, you can have an entirely new career in just 6 months. (Though you can begin selling your services today—we’ll show you how to jumpstart your cash flow in just 30 days, even before you’ve completed the certification program.)
$100,000 in annual income is the target you’ll work toward in the program—this equals $8,333 per month, and is a very achievable income goal via our training.

Introducing The 2024 Creative Writing Career Program
It’s the only program of its kind to train students in the craft of professional creative writing and the business of creative writing with one goal:
Make this graduating class the highest-paid, most in-demand creative writers in the world.
There are 5 core components to the program:
The Signature Creative Writing Skills Training: techniques to make your writing feel fresh, original, humorous, elevated, interesting, well-written, and fun to read. The cornerstone of what makes you stand out in the marketplace and get gobbled up by clients who want to borrow some of that charisma. You’ll graduate feeling confident you’ve got the skills clients want–with lots of work for your portfolio to show for it.
The Signature Creative Writing Business Training: how to run your brand-new creative writing business from A - Z: we’ll cover how to get started, how to create a killer website, how to position yourself in the marketplace, how to price & package your work, how to find your first clients, how to write proposals and agreements, how to work with clients, how to set appropriate deadlines, how to execute on deliverables (so your clients love you!), how to manage client expectations and how to run your business like a pro. The program emphasizes both efficiency and excellence, and will teach you best practices for creating an incredible new writing career without a lot of the pitfalls that most new writers experience.
Interactive Project Assignments & Feedback: this is one of the most critical components of the program, as you will be asked to complete a number of mock projects during the course of the program, which you will then submit for instructor feedback on both your writing approach and your business approach, so we can make adjustments and learn in real-time. You must complete all assignments to be eligible for certification, and you may use these projects in your official portfolio upon graduation!
Real-World Practicum Project (Required for Certification): an opportunity to work on a paid project for a real client under mentorship supervision, so you can practice your skills, build your portfolio, gain confidence, and get real-world experience in the field—without being thrown to the wolves. We will arrange the practicum for you, and you must complete this step in order to graduate.
Plus! An Additional Six Months of Ongoing Mentorship & Support: You’ll be supported as you go forth in the world with your brand-new creative writing career, where you’ll have a safe space to ask questions like, “The client wants a series of ten emails—how do I price this?!” or “They said it’s out of their budget right now—how do I respond?” or “I told the client I’d have their draft by Tuesday but I’m so not even close to done—how can I ask for an extension without seeming unprofessional?”
After 12 months, once the program and mentorship is complete, you’ll have the option to continue your professional membership for another year, if desired—so you’ll never have to go at it alone again.
How the Program Works
“Between this proposal and the last, I've made around $9000 in 2 months with just 2 clients. WOW!!! I've never had numbers like this in my business ever.” —Christina Marlett, Student
”Just scored an £11,000 project, which I'm sure I wouldn't have won without your proposal method. You’re a G and you’ve made my life wayyyy easier!” —Salma El-Wardany, Student
”I’ve increased my revenue by $80K from this time last year, and your method played a significant part. Just the other day I got a $10K writing contract by text—BOO-YAH!” —Shelly Davies, Student
We operate using a hands-on, project-based learning approach.
✔ Live classes
✔ Mock projects
✔ Training and discussion
✔ Feedback and review
You’ll learn by doing. Twice a month you’ll be assigned a mock project through which you will be challenged to both make strategic business decisions—for example, the client is requesting X, so how should you write the proposal?—as well as creative writing decisions, where you’ll complete each brief and turn in your draft.
Every other week, we’ll analyze the previous week’s assignment from both a business and writing perspective, breaking down the best real-world practices for handling each scenario, followed by a dissection of select student writing to showcase what’s working, what can be improved, and how we can create a superstar product. You’ll then have an opportunity to revise your work and resubmit for inclusion in your final portfolio, which will be graded on a pass/fail basis.
Through this method, we simulate an “on the job” learning experience where you’re learning by doing, rather than sitting through passive slides and lectures.
It’s fun. It’s interactive. It’s real. It’s writing. It’s business. And it’s your all-new career.
The Final Practicum
To complete the core program, you will work with a real client on a real project, under our supervision. This will be a paid project, and we will match you with an appropriate company.
This is designed so you can practice what you’ve learned in a real-world environment, gain confidence, and get your first paid client!
Upon graduation, it’s possible you may be offered a contract with the client, but you’ll definitely be inducted into our Creative Writer Hall of Fame, where you’ll have access to our exclusive job board of high paying creative writing jobs, and support and mentorship for the next six months.
Once the 12 months are complete, you will have the option to renew your professional membership for another year (optional).

The 2024 Program Schedule
This year’s core training program is May 2024 - October, 2024, with an additional six months of support through May 2025.
Classes happen every Wednesday from 1pm EST - 3pm EST
Assignments are due the following Wednesday for feedback and discussion
Twice a month you’ll be assigned a mock project and will have an opportunity to begin drafting live in class.
Every other Wednesday we will breakdown the previous week’s assignment, analyzing each from both a business strategy and writing strategy perspective

”Literally mind blown. I put this week's tips all together in a super cute "pricing sheet" and literally just like that (as if the universe knew I was ready) ... I had two client inquiries in my inbox. Sent the pricing sheet and my $500 offer email to both of them, and not 15 minutes later, I already have a client interested in one of the packages, plus a couple of my add-ons! YOU GUYS.” —Amanda O’Brien, Student
”I am looking to make the leap from my soul-crushing 8:30-5:30 desk job to the freelance life, and this is building my confidence in myself tremendously.” —Emily Lawson, Student
”Thank you for changing the way I think about sales. I have been freelancing for 8 years and have always felt like I've been pushed around by the tide instead of taking the reins myself. Part of that was because I didn't know HOW to take the reins, and part was because I didn't feel like I deserved them. Your insights have completely turned my world upside down and made me reimagine what I'm capable of!” —Lindsay Sánchez, Student
”You broke it down into the perfect-sized chunks to be able to absorb and execute each block. It has really given me a clear pathway to who I am and what I am selling. Your work is an amazing value for all the information you provide.” —Marie Fetzer, Student
”This is the most implemented and most often referenced course I've ever bought.” —Katie Matusky, Student
”I don't know how you did it, but you made a math hater do math. At my current rate, I'd have to turn out four projects a week to hit $100K, which is a big HELL NO, NO THANK YOU. But if I can get it up to $2k per sale, which is NOT a stretch, I'm looking at one project a week (with 1 extra / month). That's a big HELL YES I'LL HAVE THAT!” —Christine Demello, Student
”Your content has been beyond outstanding ... for real. Each day I've been astounded by the breadth & depth of mega-high quality content you've packed into each lesson. WOW. Just wow. I simply cannot thank you enough for all the hard work, immense time & effort you put into creating this for us, Ash. In me, you have a super fan for life!” —Tanya McGill, Student
”Had a sales call yesterday that I thought was a total bomb, but I used your strategy to buy me some time. I pitched a 6 month package AND said "it sounds like you might be able to benefit from XYZ as well." Just woke up to find I have a new client who wants BOTH and who will now bring in 50% more every month than what I'd originally planned to sell her one time.” —Lynne Somerman, Student
”You provide solid, concrete advice. It's information that would probably have taken me years of trial and error to distill. I love your copy, so sharp and smart and funny—as entertaining as it is informative. You clearly are accessing the joy and creativity in what you do. It's inspiring!” —Heather Vaughan, Student
”I've been on Upwork trying to land some freelance work here and there when I need cash. I've been trying to play the "nice potential freelancer," but after last night's lesson, I just thought, ‘You know what? Screw this. I'm going to say what I really want to say.’ And, wouldn't you know it? This morning, I had two people who'd sent me messages wanting to hire me. So, yeah. It works.” —Brittany Williams, Student
”I had a meeting with a brand new potential client, and I was SO confident going into the meeting because I felt like I finally had permission to charge what I need to charge. (My proposal was BANGIN', thanks to all the awesome sample templates!) The client ended up choosing the most expensive package option at $3,000/month (!), which includes working on a retainer basis for all of next year, for a grand total of $36,000 in guaranteed revenue from just one client. If I had used my original pricing structure, he would have been a one-and-done at a mere $500.” —Asia Fisher, Student
“Wow—this literally worked! That one tweak made me over $300 in the past two days! Thank you so much for your words of wisdom when it comes to dealing with clients and prospective clients. I'm so glad I invested in your courses. They've taken a whole heckuva lot of stress off of me so I can focus on my zone of genius—health writing—so much more now that I don't have to worry so much about how to say what I want to say in a way that will be well-received. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” —Leesa Klich, Student
”It’s helping to totally transform my sales call approach, an area that I have struggled in for years. I can’t get enough of your simple, yet powerful solutions to some of my biggest obstacles when I’m on the phone. During a call earlier this week, a prospect hit me with, ‘I didn’t think this was going to cost so much’ and BAM, I knew how to respond.” —Monique Floyd, Student
”Thanks a million for your sales calls training. I've listened to it two times, and I don't really know what's happening, but it's unlocked the confidence I needed to overcome my own fear of selling. I know I can do this!” —Sophia Ozog, Student
”My sister and I are still fangirling across two states. The two of us worked hard, dug deep and are blown away by Ash's guidance. Seriously, we're crying to realize we are on the right track for starting our business. THANK YOU, Ashley Ambirge!!! We love you so hard! Thank you for supporting us, for pushing us, challenging our brains, fueling our idea bank and showing us the way to be unfuckwithable!” —Sheila Streetman, Student

FAQs
-
Your message is one cohesive BIG IDEA that you use to package your work & differentiate yourself in the marketplace. It’s that BIG IDEA you want to be known for, which elevates you from hundreds or thousands of competitors doing the same work. For example, while Brene Brown is a psychologist, she’s known for The Power of Vulnerability. That’s her main message—and it’s what she’s built her empire on. Everything from her copy to her talks to her products is built around this idea. That’s what gives her such a massive reputation. Jen Sincero’s YOU ARE A BADASS is a similar concept: the book inside is really just a self-help book that could have been packaged any which way. But it was the packaging of the concept of “BADASS” that made the book a massive bestseller. That’s the message: the backbone of your business. You then use that to build everything, from your copy to your offers to your talks and beyond. It’s sort of like a theme, if you will, that’s worded in such a way that makes people instantly “get” it, love it, want it. Without a solid, compelling message, you run the risk of disappearing into the crowd and being invisible, particularly in an online landscape that depends on your ability to stand out from the noise.
-
You bet! This program is like two programs in one: first, we work to find your message, then we figure out how to put it into words that’ll instantly resonate, and then we take that theme and use it to flesh out all-new copy for your website. Inside, we cover your homepage, homepage headlines, homepage crossheads, your opt-in and newsletter, your sales pages, your product descriptions, your contact page & footer, and—drum roll—THREE versions of your professional bio: long, short and micro for use on a variety of contexts, i.e. your About Page, your social media, your Linked In, when someone asks you to send over your bio for a podcast, etc. 🌟 In fact, there’s over 4 hours of training on this alone!
-
YUP. You’ll get instant access to the entire bootcamp upon purchase. You can go through it at your leisure, on-demand style.
-
Video screencast! You’ll walk with me “over my shoulder” through all sorts of writing exercises, explanations, transformations, and examples. Then, I’ll prompt you to try it out for yourself! It’s like being there next to me at the computer.
-
Due to the non-refundable nature of digital products, we do not offer refunds for our on-demand workshops. Not just your customers’, but your own. And when you have the right words to describe your idea?
You have power.

P.S. Here Are Seven Sneaky Tell-Tale Signs You Should Definitely Consider a Career as a Professional Creative Writer
You think “I’m Glad My Mom Died” is a most excellent book title.
You hail Cards Against Humanity as a deity.
You covet witty tweets / people / packaging / that one candle company you saw online after a bourbon-fueled night in Kentucky.
The word “synergistic” has never crossed your lips, nor will it, so help you every oath that ever mattered.
You spend an unusually long amount of time writing witty email replies (the last line’s gotta count).
You refuse to say things like “I’m sorry for your loss” on the grounds of a lack of originality.
And would totally cry creepy little tears of joy if your job was to write product descriptions like this:
That last line is so good, you might even tattoo it to your thigh.
